Lecture 1 - History

We had our first formal lecture today. Went through the timelines of photography and cameras.

It was enlightening, though I seriously cannot imagine dragging a camera much heavier than me around (one of them was 200 pounds, can you believe it?)

We were given our first assignment: a photogram.

Instead of using a photosensitive paper, we're just going to scan the image using a flat-bed scanner. This should be interesting, trying to find an image that expresses well. I wonder what I can use though, extremely big objects are out of the picture (no pun intended), I'll need the object to be able to fit into my scanner.

Will ponder through this.

Meanwhile, stay tuned!

A new beginning

A new learning journal for the semester 1 2007/08!

I'm really excited to take up NM3223 Digital Photography and Imaging. It sounds like loads of fun, and I will get to learn useful shooting techniques that can add colours to my photographs.

I believe that it will be a good learning experience and I look forward to sharing my thoughts with fellow classmates and mentors.

Feel free to contribute your thoughts of my works under the comments tab.

Cheers!
